I agree with Snoopy. My other car is the dog car - wet dog and family in and out and the inside always steams up but not in the golf. I have rubber mats which stay wet and the dog bed takes an age to dry properly (and yes it does smell!). Both kept in same driveway (so same weather conditions) and driven with A/C most of the time.

My windows steam up if i've had the ac on on a wet day to clear them then switch it off, if that makes sense? I wonder if it's something like that?

The exact same for me.  My windows always mist up on the inside if I have used the air con on my previous run out. Which inevitably means I have to use it again to remove the mist and it just seems to be a vicious circle. If I don't use it though the windows seem to stay mist free.

I remember reading the reason for this in the past but as usual can't find it when looking for it.

The Danno

Get your climate control checked.
But before you do, do you leave all the air vents open all of the time? Leaving them fully open should help. Just a thought.

Humidity level differences between inside and outside?

AC only works above 5 degrees doesn't it? so anything lower and its not working and not sucking the moisture out?  :undecided:

Got back off train tonight and thought I just needed to scrape ice on outside of screen. But turned out I was completely soaked up on the inside and it took a good 5 mins plus to start getting warm air to clear (was also much faster on passenger side than drivers !).

Was probably the worst I've had in any car and not helped that car was facing west into full sun as it went down which always seems to make it worse. Not sure if there's any cure as such, just need to try and keep as dry as poss and keep AC on to get drier air into car.

+1!!!!!!!

Exactly the same for me. The drivers door doesn't quite sit in line. Slightly proud at the top, but not bad enough to let the rain in... Common prob apparently. Deffo passenger side clears first!!!
