I've just had one fitted to my 16v (front gas shocks and lowered springs all round).  Seems fine to me.  Handles like it's on rails!

I fitted them to my cabrio and then was advised not to use them........unfortuantely the advise came too late.
However, I have not had any problems with the handling etc., certainly an improvement on what was originally fitted (totally worn front shocks and a broken spring).

Don't do it!!!! The kit i bought for mk3 vr6 was so sh!t i took it back. Ask modulator about his kit, hes replacing all of it. One spring was longer than the other on the front, the ride was terrible(since put eibachs on it), the dampers and top mounts on the front are knackered already. Might seem cheap but from i've seen of kits for mk2 and mk3 they are sh!t.

I would recommend try a Weitic kit from C&R enterprises in Nottingham. Thats whats on my VR6 , it cost ?300 delivered (not much more than g+s), kit was very good quality and i've had no problems so far. I would also recommend eibach springs, they are superb.

Some useful advice would be gratefully received. Recently bought Mk2 16V. Very wallowy so I guess I need new shocks and poss. springs. More puzzling is the sloppy steering. I've got to hold on pretty tight and there's a very indirect feel between steeering and road wheels. Car also tramlines badly and I really have to hold on and correct the steering under heavy braking. Exciting but not in the right way. Suspension bushes? There is no play when stationary between turning steering and road wheel turning - road wheels turn immediately so not worn rack. Help. Thanks. ???

Get the car tracked is your first bet.

Yep worth getting the tracking checked. It could be worn wishbone bushes or worn steering track rod balljoints. Look at the bushes to see if they are breaking up.

Thanks Tin/VR6. I've got a pretty good specialist nearby so I'll get them to give it a good going over. I had the tracking done a couple of months ago which helped, but things have got progressively worse. I'll keep ye posted and I'm sure you're right on the worn bushes/balljoint theory. Nothing worse than a worn out bush! Except balls that are breaking up I s'ppose.

They are easy to check, if they are all cracked and breaking up then they are shot.
