changing the window regulater
« on: 19 January 2011, 10:21 »
HI, i have just bought as new regulater kit , apparently they used to be sold seperatly ( clips , wire ect) but mines come pre assembled so wont have any tension problems

OK  i have removed the door card unbolted the plate, i have removed the black caps, but the plate seems to be jammed on the right hand side near to the door lock, any ideas how to get this off? its driving me nuts , do  i have to remove the locking mecanism?

Have a search on google along the lines of "how to change golf window regulator" plenty of wrightups out there. Most with pics. I know there's one over on ukmkivs.
But yeah. Need to undo the torx/tripple square screw(hidden behind a bung in side of door)
Take off locking barrel, unclip the string, then undo the other 2 screws at the side of the door, then should slide out, also have you undone the clips on the window through the bungs in the regulator pannel?
