Replace / upgrade Bluetooth module on a MK6
« on: 18 January 2011, 22:10 »
I have a new Bluetooth module (iPhone compatible, etc.) and wanted to find a guide on where to find the old module (car has older Bluetooth installed), how to change over the units and what cable is needed for A2DP. Google has not come up trumps yet and I'm not sure there is such a guide here.

Strictly this comes under the audio category, but you guys know and love your MK6s, so it might be quicker asking here.

Thanks,

Sam

The module is in a foam block under the drivers seat. Just unplug the aerial and main connector then plug the new one in.

As for the extra pins PM me if you want a cable making up as I have everything here ready to do this

Thanks SteveP.

By foam block, do you just stick your hand underneath and pull it out, or is it tethered somehow? Any pics anywhere?

I think I had that one installed (will check when I go out to the car), which did NOT, and just replaced it with a 5N0 035 730 D which DOES. Took 30 seconds to do and got it off eBay.

I did not try it, but the 5N0 035 730 C, reportedly, DOES NOT work with the iPhone. It is Remote Sim Access Protocol (rSAP), not Hands Free Profile (HFP), which the revision D is (it does both.)
