As Snoops said it's all down to throttle control, you soon get used to it.

Yes, you may be right. But also, I could not do anything due to insurance costs. My premium would have jumped by an extra £1400!  Come March, I'll change to Admiral or Elephant and I can do as I please without major finanacil repercussions.
I also had to sell my 'Winter' wheels because of this.

.... and that Snoops is the bottom line. Hence my vacillation.
Plus, I can have warranty problems, not due to the re-map, but something else and VW might easily refuse to pay-up if they read the flash count (?). Too much of a risk IMO.

For me it's partly knowing it's there, when I need/want it.
I don't use all of the grunt very often and I never race.

Sometimes though, driving along an open road I put my foot down and the thrill is just out of this world.

Same as me GolfTi, It can come in very useful when you need a bit extra, it is so effortless in the midrange but most of the time I don't need it especially in this weather when even the standard map has problems with traction.

Sometimes I wonder if they have also recalibrated the speedometer 

Looking forward to some warmer days with more grip.

The re-map is constantly on my mind. I will sleep on this until March. If I do re-map it will be Bluefin. That's for sure. 100%.
I just need to find a car with this installed before I take the plunge. Yes, I am scared but also wary. I've had a pretty dismal experience with VW Customer Care and with Warranty problems. I have been bitten quite badly. You have no idea what stress I went through wih them. Snoops is on the same page as me and he has also been through hell and back. It consumes one.
Yes I am scared, but it's only natural.
