central locking
« on: 17 January 2011, 22:18 »
ive bought a 5 door 1.8 as a donor for my 3 door 1.4 the 1.8 has standard vw central locking, just wondering if this will fit my car, but have a few questions

1) will it even fit my car seeing as its from a 5 door?
2) will i have to change the locks/will i be able to keep my key? if you know what i mean
3) would it be straight forward fit, as in putting coilovers on, or really really fiddly like fitting air conditioning as 2 examples of a easy and hard job lol

thanks for your help (y)

it should all fit, just block off the vac connections for the rear doors. wont need to change locks or owt, just strip the doors down and what needs doing should become obvious. hard part is running all the pipes etc, if it was me id forget the idea and fit an rclick.co.uk mk4 style remote locking kit instead
