Storm (metallic) grey

Like the wheels, are they comp's

I dont know shady lol! Sorry yes the vento front end is going on, but its going to be a very different looking beast when its finished!! Sort of euro/OEM but with a slight rat twist!

Haha no im not going to 'rat' it, i said slight rat twist. The body colour will stay the same with the exception of the bonnet and roof! But mostly the influences will be euro.
A few unique styling touches will be applied but all will be revealed in a couple of weeks time :D

Shady;s dub rides thread: http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=160909.0

This seems odd, on one hand you say it is rare but now your going for a rat / euro look  :undecided: would have been better to have found a 16v or VR donor to be honest, still seems a whole lot of work to go from 60bhp to 115bhp.

Sorry for hogging the thread but having just stumbled across this gem i had to share, this is how i want mine to look.

That I really like, tastefull and not over the top

Those euro'd golfs are similar to the look were going for, but less show'n'shine and more 'every day jawdropper'.
Its not about the power, or we would have opted for an ABF or VR6. Its more about the overall spec such as:

A bit more power (vast improvement over 1.4 im sure you will agree)
Reliability
Bigger (safer) brakes
5 stud, more wheel options
Comfort options (electric windows, central locking, nice seats, etc...)
Plus the fact that i couldnt even buy an engine from a 16v or vr for the same price i got the complete donor gti.

All in all its financially the best buy as im already running a Vectra GSI MSD V6 lol!!

Thanks, Mike

As long as you are aware that you will need to swap everything and I mean everything.

Off topic but what year is the Vectra GSI and are you on VVOC btw.

Yep im aware, thats why im changing everything including the whole abs system, looms, dashboard, suspension and axles. The only thing from the 1.4 will be the carpets and the shell. Everything else will be from the gti.
Im a mechanic by trade so im quite looking forward to it. Just waiting on the last couple of shiny new parts to be delivered and then im good to go.

My GSI is a 2000 and i am on VVOC but its been that long since ive been on it ive forgotten my username and password haha!

Cheers, Mike

@ Jack: Usually maybe but i require the larger brakes, and the wheels were going for can only be found in 5stud flavour!

I say crack on mate, id love to do something like that but dont have the cash. At the end of the it wil be your own custom car and uno it wil be 1of a kind (sort of) when youve finished it. Good luck mate hope it goes well
