GTI Clocks (oil temp) in ryder, BBS center caps
« on: 16 January 2011, 17:24 »
I have a set of GTI clocks that came with my ryder 1.3

These are the pre 89 clocks, and i need the later.

My question is, when i buy the new clocks, can i wire up the oil temp to be displayed constantly with ignition in the MFA screen, without putting the stalk on etc ? Im not that fused about all the other functions.

And I have a set of BBS RZ's, can RS center caps fit, talking about the whole center, not just the badge.

Thanks

I'm sure it would be far easier to get the stalk than reprogramme the clocks (assuming you even can). Another option would be rigging your own button in one of the dash blank to change the display to the oil temp, but you'd need to splice into the clocks loom.

All of this is a moot point anyway, as I don't believe the 1.3 has a temperature sender for the oil

you can do this it involves adding wires to the rear of the fusebox. at least the stalk is easy you just need the wiring from the stalk to the fusebox which is on its own 4 pin loom section. can be had from mk3 golf gti, corrado and high spec passat

see here on how to wire it:
