Door stuck shut the how to open thread
« on: 16 January 2011, 09:25 »
I have read a couple of cases were the mk6 door lock has failed or stuck.

For future reference once the cars out of warrenty and rather pay ~£400 to get it fixed as you cannot get the door panel off with the door shut here is how to get the door open.

Just read this on another forum. So have not tried it yet as my labtops dead

If you have vagcom/VCDS go into central locking and perform an output crash test this will pop the doors regardless of a fault.

I have read a couple of cases were the mk6 door lock has failed or stuck.

I had this problem on day 2 of owning my ED30 MK5.  I took it straight back to the dealers - who told me the deadlock had failed in the passenger door.  They ended up hacking off the interior panel and fixing it.  I got the car back with the interior door panel all marked (which they told me about before I got the car back) and then it had to go back to the dealers a few days later once the new door panel they'd ordered arrived for fitting!

On another note - labtop?!?!
