Boot strut problem
«
on:

Hi,
Recently my boot strut came out of the top whole it usually located in. It looked a little rusty so am thinking the thread has rusted away. Any ideas on how I might fix this?
Thanks

Sorry I didn't really make myself clear. I think its the thread in the car itself thats rusted not the strut. So a new one would have the same problem and not screw into the damaged thread.

Sounds like you may need a new boot,
Or you could "possibly" get away with a bit of loctite on the existing screw?

Can you weld? lol weld new one, clean it up and spray it. but at the price of that it could be cheaper to but a new boot lid from scrap yard.

Well its actually the frame end not the boot
But your right a spot weld will easily hold that and to be honest isnt going to effect value much.
Thanks guys
