4 lamp grille..

Hi guys and girls..

On my mk2 the 4 lamp grille has a bit of a broken slat so i want to replace.. is there any where i can get a 'new' one of these preferably genuine ??

looked on BBT and could only see all black model and i want the one with 7? slats and the red line outline if that makes sense ??

aftermarket ones tend to be of poor quality, moulding marks often need trimming off and the plastic clips can be brittle

you will be able to get a tidy one second hand without spending a small fortune, check the breaking section/ebay/other forums.

Think you can still get the 5-slat from VW for about £50. Not sure about 7-slat - I remember when my dad's was nicked off his C-reg GTI in the early '90s he replaced it with a 5-slat, so maybe the 5-slat superceded the 7-slat? May be worth a try anyway.

I bought a brand new one from VW just a couple of months ago... £47.00 Plus Vat (TPS)... Superb make all the differance...

Also worth getting all new screws, mounts and the headlight clips... Just looks so much better..

Only issue is getting new mounts for the drivers lamps if you need them as they are NLA!!

Don't be tempted with ones on Ebay as most have knackered clips!!

Well i will grab one of them soon then before they become NLA... I will also check my amount of slats.. i have a late 90spec mk2.. Any one got part numbers ??

Also TPS by me wont serve as not in motor trade.. any ideas ??
