Mk1 cabs are cool.

Mk3 or 3.5's are ghey! Partly because they had to go and do a 3.5!

I think the majority of them are horrible and feminine but if done properly they can be real nice cars!

I'm not a fan of any convertable.  There are very very few cabrio's that a guy can get away with driving and the mk3 golf definately isn't one.

I'm not suggesting anything about sexuality, but guys just look strange in them.  Same story as Ford Ka's, Vauxhall Tigra's and Toyota Yaris'.  My first instinct when I see a guy driving is 'Must be his girlfriends car.'  Admittedly, the VW is the best built of the above list... 

I also don't like red cars.
