Heater Very Poor

Guys, i've noticed how cr@p the heater is in my Gti.

I've overhauled the cooling system in the summer with a new thermostat and housing, new head pipe connector, new metal pipe that wraps around the end/front of the engine, and a new radiator.

The heater is decidedly poor......even when the engine's nice and toasty.

Is there a positive shut-off valve for the heater like a 2-port valve?

There are valves. They are on the two hoses running into the bulkhead and feeding the matrix. Take them out, throw them away and either stick some copper pipes in their place or get get replacement hoses from 'G S and F' that do away with the need for the valves. The valves are obsolete.  See the stickys on maintenance at the top. Lots of useful advice.

mine a rubbish too, i wear hat and gloves whilst driving when its cold outside,  :shocked:

Have a crack on the search function. This topic comes up at least 4 times a month in winter months.
