Wrong temp sensor?
« on: 11 January 2011, 10:39 »
Hi guys, I'm having no look at all with these aftermarket temp sensors! I first bought a sensor for my 16v kr from ek and it was wrong, I then ordered 2 black 1 pin sensors from gsf part no.. 929VG0090 and they looked fine but now my temp gauge sits at 3/4 sometimes higher! I swapped the wires round on the 2 new sensors but still the same! So my question is have i bought the correct sensors from gsf?? I should add they are the only 1 pin black temp sensors they have.

Thanks Carl.

Well i havn't checked at full temp but when the temp gauge is at half way i noticed the oil at 62c which would suggest it's not overheating.

vwspares.co.uk. Price is cheap but good German sourced parts

i found that ECP ones over read too. Waste of money TBH. I have 2 spare ones at home now
one that reads off scale and another that read too high

Lol its seems to nearly always end up the same for little things like this. VDub stealers arent actually too bad for bolts and brackets. Just the big stuff that shanks you

I've got 3 vwspares black sensors, had them about 3 months now, they are spot on. I'm not sure about the white collared oil temp sensor,it doesn't look like vwspares do em, I haven't needed one for mine as it seems ok, and I think I've got a spare kicking about somewhere...try googling the part number off it?

I had this problem. The 4 quid gsf one made the gauge go off the scale. I then got a vw one which read right but cost me 30 quid!
