Sharan VR6

Is the Sharan VR engine exactly the same as the golf? In other words, will it fit in a golf?

Yes but the wiring will be no good and also I believe the gearbox is different.

Think the power is down on the golf lump, was reading over on vr6oc thatit only had 145bhp but not sure how reliable that info was.

Some guides quote that others say 174bhp, I 99% sure the early autos were down to around 145bhp

P.S a couple years ago a lad on here asked the same question and it turned out it was no good

It's engine code is AAA same as the golf, so with a golf box and loom would it not work??

I remember the lad having done research found it to be too much a mare of some kind, so if i was u id keep things simple get the golf version full car and its straight swap no messing, i know u know it makes sense

I know people are into doing engine conversions etc on here but would it not be better to just buy a VR6 instead you can pick a nice VR up for 2 grand now.
