A good cup holder!

Basically I want to fit a cup holder into the old headunit slot. I'm not too keen on the gauges and cup holders is something I miss, burnt bollox ain't good at all. Basically I'm asking if you own any car with good holders, doesn't have to be vag. Must be retractable to make the dash neat when not in use.

I remeber going to a show last year and seeing a mk2 with a mk4 cup holder installed where you are thinking of having it done. The guy wasnt around to ask how he did it but it must be able to be done.

Only problem with the mk4 ones is that they are quite thin? So would need alot of space filling in, if you get where I'm coming from. Preferable need to be single din size or as close as

Yeah i get what you mean, i think you will need to do a bit of reaserch to see what cup holders are thicker and might fit, not sure how big the audi ones are as they seem to be thick and might fit better. Found this on ebay, i know its not what you are looking for but this would probably be a last resort from burning your balls

Hmmm that second one looks abit decent? Like its a straight swap for the headunit! Have seen a few alfa and suburu holders that look quality but pictures don't give you exact sizes. I don't mind making something fit because that's half the fun

Yeah defo for the second one, looks like it wouldnt need much work to make it fit too, my mate has the same one that fitted stright into his almera gti without much work and does the job great. Plus you get a change draw with it too

A draw would come in use, seeing as though I've hacked away at the cig lighter part and fitted a double din screen. Going to go check them sizes now. Ta pal :-)

Good links but they go in place of the ash tray where as I've got a screen there. I need mine to replace the headunit space, presume the procedure is similar though

Yeah good link as the second one is the same unit i found on ebay and posted up, it does make me think about mine now  Will be good to see if you go a head with it what it will look like in yours.
