2E was never fitted to a mk2, Corrado and Passat

LOL

where did i say it was ??

stop posting stupid stuff, ask anybody who actually knows, and they will tell you the 2E is basically the same as what was in the MK2, not the same code granted, but i never said it was

2e is a 2.0 but I guess in one respect it was close to a PB but still needs mods to fit a mk2.

yeah mate correct, obvioulsy diff bottom end, rest is about the same, the later mk3 8v's that suffer all the sensor probs, early MK3's are the best of the bunch IMO.. most reliable

Yep 2e is a much better lump than the later ones, early ones were also a lot simpler as you say with the siemens setup.

The 4 cylinder engines didn't actually change that much from the late seventies, obviously fuel delivery changed.

mine is a August 1993, so one of the early ones with the wax looking rust proofing all other the place and not the sh!tty Galvernised crap with ZERO of the wax protection

(when i say wax, it looks like candle wax, MK 2's have it, its all in the inner doors, under the hood in all the  corners etc etc)
