You have a valid point Snoops and I personally think you did the right thing.

The problems I listed for instance, we talked about for ages on the forum and are common problems. It will be a pain to troll and find all the posts and threads. You can see these problems on the cars on the street. Some people get these fixed, others cannot be bothered. Some cars are better made than others. However, VW attended to all mine under warranty. Mine was not the first car the bodyshop had to rectify with these issues. These are issues VW know about.

I did however find that the list of 24 items provided great clarity.

My problem is that i was the first reply in that sticky, i read one other reply and then logged off for a few hours so it would seem i missed most of what your talking about as when i logged back on it was gone and this thread was here, my reply in this thread was a bit tongue in cheek tbh, not trying to offend you as your probably one of the most knowledgable on here but there are threads being posted then removed, cut then pasted with new titles so "harder to follow". Perhaps you should have locked it with an explanation, and then deleted it? Just my 2p.

Sounds like a thread with some useful information (for a change). Shame it went before I had a chance to read it.

Maybe just limit and moderate to the top 10 or 20 faults/niggles/problems?

Just an idea. Hard work to moderate though.

But whos to say they are the top 10? You, me, doc, VW MDST at your local delaership, MDST at my local dealership, do i have to send a questionair to all VW dealerships, do i include all VWgroup brands if its a common part to them all, all VW forums involving mk6 golfs and maybe others if its a common part to other brands models?.... And there lies the problem, we are back too the definition of 'common'

Maybe that's part of the problem? I remember your well documented panels out of alignment but that for me is very subjective. I'm sure I have one or two panels like others that are slightly out but to me that is not an inherent fault with the car.

Same with someone having the odd rattle. Is that a common problem? Sure if dozens of people have the same rattle at the same place. Like a lot of folk have spoke about the ticking of the door panel when it gets hot.

Snoopy I don't know why you are getting your knickers in a twist mate. Why would you have been to blame if the thread got out of hand? Not unless you are a sensitive wee soul that takes everything to heart? You aren't responsible for others actions.

I'll be honest when I first read the post my initial impressions were "bloody hell lets all sh!t on the MK6 from a great height" as the post would be 100% negative. I was going to start a similar thread with "Lets all post the good things we like about our cars" but decided against it.

Like a few have mentioned, maybe it would be good to have a "Common" niggles post that you could let grow but then cut the dross out. Or have a balanced outlook as there are some great features folk have mentioned through threads.

But you need to chill Snoopy  Don't take it to heart.
