APT engine advice 1.8 20v

hi, just a quickie, i have access to an APT code audi engine which is currently in an a4 auto, is the engine specific to an auto trannyed car, i ask because the power is stated as 124 bhp, but yet there is another engine with a different code, that is also stated as 124bhp. they are both 1.8 20v non turbos.
anyone help?as i would want to use the APT engine mated to a manual box

Should all be the same but you would need to swap some parts over.

If your fitting it to a Golf you will need lots changing over.
