Wind up merchants from other sections.....
Morning chaps, sorry I missed all this. I thing I'll split this up with an appropriate title, please hit the report to mod if you have a problem with bating in future btw I don't see any problems here just z little off topic.

AS your always welcome and your opinions very valid

Exonian don't leave or cease posting mate, this section is not exploding and is I hope finally starting to take shape with people talking about their cars or options or mods not shouting at each other about gearboxes or engines etc :-) We the Mk6's do seem to be the but of idiots here from time to time but I do tend to ignore them unless it's going to wind up MK6 owners against each other.

ASKER thank you for trying to keep the mood light.

I think they think all mk6 owners are either in debt up to the eyeballs with car loans or absolutely loaded. For some members that is the case but many of the rest of us are just normal hard working people that happen to be in a position to buy an overpriced shopping car after spending many years working their arses off to be in that position. I work a hell of a lot of hours to afford my little luxury on 4 wheels. No loans and no company assistance and a job that is way way off being a higher rate tax payer.
Now there have been many incidents that have grated me on this forum with pointless bickering that often puts me off posting, and now I've inadvertantly dropped myself into it and have annoyed myself and probably everyone else, so I've said my bit, possibly been called a pussy by a moderator  and therefore am going to go into self imposed exile for a bit (again), those that use it, see you on the other forum that came about last time a current model Golf section self imploded on here.....
(and should I have to explain myself yet again, yes, I typed this tongue in cheek too)
Mate, don't feel put off from posting, ignore alot of the rubbish, rise above it, its either jelousy or there atempt at sarcasm

How about a ''I actually own a scabby mk3 but like to drop by the mk6 secton to sh!t stir and show everyone how thick I am'' choice?  :lipsrsealed:

Who does that refer to?

Anyone that it applies to.

I know the type your pointing the finger at btw

Thank you both.

I have looked through other forums and none is as warm and as exciting as this one IMO. Frankly, the quality of the posts tend to be a bit on the lukewarm side and hence do not invigorate.

What we have here are a range of wonderful characterful and knowledgeable members with a good sense of humour. We are serious about issues, supportive to our fellow members but also temper this with a sense of humour which is not vindictive. It might be warped at times, but we know and adhere to reasonable limits.

Maybe, I seem a bit protective of this forum, but one does with the things one loves.

I really don't need to "come back" with a comment now after your post do I? :lipsrsealed:
Daz - Sorry to go off topic, but people who are too pussy to say what they mean wind me up. My original thread was a suggestion if you wanted a general (more accurate) concensus of the entire forum

Okay, you've compelled me to go off topic-ish again.
You did come back with a comment and I've hightlighted it.
Who's being pussy-ish? That was just as indirect a remark as my little attempt at humour that started you off. Are you referring to me? You, a mod having an equally indirect assault on a little humour that I put into a post? Or have I got hold of the wrong end of the stick like you did to my post? If you thought my post was aimed at you being a non mk6 owner having posted earlier in the thread then I apologise if that was the perception you got, it was far, far from the case and I can see the angle you were taking whilst I also understood the angle the OP was aiming at. My little remark was aimed at those one or two members who appear in this section once or twice a week when they're bored and stir up the sh!te then vanish again for a while.
Daz Auto and other members on here who want to post threads such as this which are aimed primarily at users of this particular section of the forum only, I would suggest always put ''mk6 owners / section users'' in the title of the thread. Everyone is very welcome in this section (apart from pussy me it seems) but it is nice to see a general concensus of this section rather than the whole forum which is a large community, this I'm assuming is what the OP was after.

Consider this a misunderstanding between us both then. Under the carpet and all that.

I will explain my reasoning behind my discomfort to the post just so it is clear.

I tend to browse this part of the forum, because maybe, I will be purchasing a mk6, I am yet to decide.
I will post in threads that I feel I can add some value to, and like everyone else I browse other topics to see what's going on in terms of peoples ownership experience, technical problems and solutions etc.

Exonian - Obviously you haven't been here often enough for me to notice your posting from what you have said about leaving again. Thus I cannot tell that you are mickey taking or not. I do not see any reason for you to stop posting if you and I can show that it was a misunderstanding between us.
I honestly don't care how you have brought your cars, you have them, that's grand, and I can't be bothered to nit pick over such little things like how you got them when I'm more interested in reading about them and helping out with problems (or trying). The same with nitty little remarks, if you're going to say something, be blunt. There is not a lot that annoys me more than someone with a little backhanded comment, hence I bit, but like I mentioned I am not interested in this, I prefer to read and solve if i can.
However, ultimately, whatever. I won't lose sleep over it and I doubt you will either, so a misunderstanding it is.

Asker - Apology accepted, like I stated above I'm not interested in offending people. However, a little background check never hurt before you claim something

Edit: Snoops in terms of myself and Jealousy and or sarcasm - You couldn't be more wrong.

Blame that Blackblurry. I'm usually quite 'safe' in my postings and besides, I am an invalid.

I am going to ingest three chill-pills now.

Mr Slick, my hand of friendship is offered to you. And as we are now officially best mates can I marry your sister?

Quick last few words whilst I'm enjoying the dishonour of being moderated
Slick, I'm sure you didn't want to know the ins and outs of my financial situation but I thought I'd post up anyway for the benefit of the usual suspects who'll probably drop by this section before the weekend is out. And for those, I'll repeat: we're not all snobs in here, honest guvnors.
And I'll add to that to save Snoops a job, he wasn't accusing you personally of being sarcastic or jealous either, again like myself, his comments were aimed at the usual suspects who haunt this section spordaically.
We mk6 owners have taken so much abuse we now need to be handled with kid gloves.
And I haven't been that absent from the forum, just recently partly due to working silly hours and partly due to getting bored about reading the same old arguments and bickering (obviously you weren't involved in that but I'm sure you've read the threads), over 900 posts mostly in this section in under two years. I was quite surprised at how many (pointless, probably) posts I'd actually made.

Snoopy and Doc (and Asker ) Thanks. I didn't mean I wasn't going to read the forums, too much valuable info here for that. I just meant I'd be taking a back seat behind a privacy screen for a while until I had something useful to contribute.
In fact I was hoping you'd just delete all the crap we put into the other thread so feel free to delete this one as I'm not enjoying my limelight! Once it has all been read through, feel free to bin the whole thread, job done and I'm feeling the love. I'll now quickly edit the first post so it doesn't look so disjointed.

Now stop being a bashful bride. The thread is brilliantly hilarious with excellent prose from all. It serves as a good warning to the sh!t stirrers to curb themselves. Mix and match is so much better than doom and gloom!

BTW, if you're into bigamy, you can marry my sister!
