Water ingress at base of windscreen
« on: 06 January 2011, 09:11 »
The plastic cover at the base of the windscreen has come away slightly at one side of the screen (i guess water freezing and expanding was the culprit).

I would think if I  could remove it and clean away any gunk it might click back into place.

Has anyone removed this before as at a glance it looks like I would do more harm than good.

ANy tips appreciated.

Could be worth a trip to a local windscreen replacment company or the dealers to have it looked at?.

A new windscreen would sort it but for insurance to cover it it would need to be damaged accidentally not just wear and tear.

I will probabaly just try and clean it out and put a seal in it for the moment.
