MK3 VR6 - Electric Window Wiring
« on: 06 January 2011, 01:00 »
Hi all,

Does anyone have pin details for the leccy window switches and motor connectors?
Or even better a wiring diagram?

My passenger side window has an intermittant fault. It works fine then sudddenly stops. Then after fondling the switch (either drivers switch or passenger switch) it will start working again.Checked earths, power, switches themselves, no broken wires, fuses fine. It really is completely random. Drivers side works fine.

Cheers,
Jim

Have you checked all the wires inside the door grommet? I mean the expanding rubber between door and frame.

Yep checked all the wiring inside the rubber grommit.
All seems to be tip top but I cant tell if each wire is doing what it should be as I dont have a wiring diagram.
The problem shows all the symptoms of a short somewhere or intermittent short, but I canna find it.

VW like using switched earths which makes it even more confusing.

Cheers for the reply Len.

Easy enough to trace the wires from the switch as you then know the colour of the wire.

If its only one window/door its got to be in that area I would have thought!
