Big day out for Wellow Racing yesterday.

Out to the barn for 07:30, where we loaded up.

09:00 boat

Southampton at 10:00

Down to Newton Abbot, where we dropped off the bus at Futbus's place:

Which is where Jord's camper is at the moment. You can see the side of it through the front of the red van in the photo.  Just.

Great story from Futbus about the yellow van - apparently it was stolen on the way to him - the guy who was paid to transport it from North Yorkshire to Devon got bored of towing it around Leeds and sold it to someone for £500, who then sold it for £1500, who (I think) then posted about it on a VW forum, from where it was promptly recovered.  Apparently this delivery driver has done this lots of times around the UK, on one occasion driving a 1954 flatbed lorry about 10 miles up the road before getting bored and selling that.

Then we went and collected a new project, which was residing past Penzance.  This was so far past Penzance, it made sense to take a 10 minute detour to here:

(Lands End).  That was at 17:12

We then got on it and made some serious time to get back to Red Funnel at Town Quay in Southampton at about 21:50, in time for the 22:30 boat.

So, between 10AM and 10PM my average speed was about 39mph.

The bus is gone (look out for it around Newton Abbot in 12-18 months) and there is another, rather interesting Golf2 residing at Wellow Racing.

Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Holiday cottages on the Isle of Wight for 2-10 people? PM me.

It could be a 1.3 for all I know, maybe he's just a bit delirious after driving a mk3 for so long!

Guessing by the front wing, it might be a failed attempt at an engine conversion?

That was my first guess, but I thought "who would need to identical syncros?"

Then I remembered who it is!
