No Power
« on: 04 January 2011, 16:46 »
Got in my car this morning (1.9 GT TDI 150) and everything seemed fine until I got on the motorway. I put my foot down on the slip road and nothing happened. My revs wouldnt go over 3k and I struggled to get upto 50mph and when I did it wouldnt go no faster there were no warning lights on the dash either.

I eventually got to work and I was very worried my turbo had gone, I've just tried my car again now and everything seems fine again touch wood. Anybody got any ideas????

Cheers

you hit limp mode. more than likey caused by sticky turbo vains.
mine used to do this until I used some turbo cleaner and its been fine for 18 months now

Yep definitely gone into limp mode. Mine used to do it when I accelerated hard. Took me ages to find one of the 1/4" dia hoses were leaking. Turning the ignition off/on will reset it.
