electric window regulator question!

I need a replacement drivers electric window regulator for my 3 door 16v. Are the 3 and 5 door mechanisms the same as some on ebay say so and some do not.

Advice please!

They are 100% the same. Although, rears wont fit fronts and vice versa.

From a golf hatchback yes they are the same, I used a regulator from the rear door of a 5d on my 3d front.

However the estate regulators are different, at least the one at the scrapyard was anyway.

I got a 5 door front regulator, so from what ur sayin it should go into my 3 door front door ok?

I would love to see how it fit Mate as the 5 door rear regulator has one steel bar and the front regulators (3 and 5 door) have two steel bars that bolt to the door. Totally different regulators and I can't even imagine how the rear regulators could hold the front door glass.
