« on: 04 January 2011, 10:45 »
OK here we go,  got a mk3 16v abf engine, had a problem with a small oil leak when i looked under the bonnet the crankcase breather pipe was split and looked like the leak was coming from there, so replaced pipe job done.... or so i thought.

I now have on my drive a yellow foam type fluid looks like oil water mixed crank case breather pipe all clear, checked my oil all ok checked water level all ok, but cant see where leak is coming from, or whats causing it.

help please

Is there anything on the inside of plastic engine shield ? you might have to whip it off to see. If you cant see anything when you take the oil filler cap off did you turn the filler cap upside down and look there, normally yellow foam is present there, or remove the coolant filler cap again normally if the head gasket has gone you would see signs in those places.  Any garage should be able to sniff the coolant for you to see if there is exhaust in the coolant, that is a sure fire way.

Good luck mate hope your head is okay
