Jay, i have 4x100 to 5x130 adapters and there isn't any overlap on the bolts.

The wife did 8 thousand miles in her cabrio on adapters and i've been running my golf for 6 months.

130 is a big enough pcd for there not being any overlap.

To the o.p. Thickness depends more on the offset of the wheels rather than size

What about the brake discs?
Give it a year then check the wheel bearings guess it depends on how you drive and what golf its on?

Damn you dave I was going to say bout et. Good job I read through 1st. I don't see how it will affect the brake disc though jay? Maybe its me just having an idiot moment though.

Hey like I said how much meat will you have between the 4x100 to 5x130?
Your discs will have to be re drilled to match the 5 stud by overlap I mean how much meat between holes?
By all means run them at your own risk I'm old Skool but hey shoot me?
In America they are illegal (due to accidents) only in Europe you can by H&R's
Like I said I know from an engineers perspective on dynamic forces on those hubs!
From a cool perspective yeah get em and drive hard see what happens
Offset can be affected depends how thick the adaptors are after all thicker the safer but depending upon what alloys are running with them, it will push them out maybe too far out? So its important you know what offset you have and going to run 7J would be 7.5J possibly or even more I don't run spacers for that stress hence I prefer performance than show (shrug shoulders)

Jay. Not sure if we have crossed lines. Adapters bolt to the hub through the disc using the vw's 4x100 pcd. The wheel bolts to the adapter. No need to drill the disc.

Are you thinking of redrilling hubs?
