Removing seat for cleaning question

Was sitting at home tonight with way to much time on my hands and this thought came into my mind..

If i was to remove the front seats to clean the inside of the car will the seat air bag light go off again when I put them back or still read a fault? How do the Pros on here get round this? Do you make sure the car ist started when there out?

seats are only removed if absolutly needed, ive personally never had to remove any seats in the more modern motors but have done in the past but back then seats didnt have stupid amounts of electrics going through them.

id guess that removing the seat could come up with a fault code due to there being a break in the circuit so to speak.
i may be wrong though.

My Golf the G'friends Seat Leon and my dads Saab..  The Leon is a 4 years old this month and I would say shes cleaned it 2 times a year inside.. The dirt on the seats is unreal sometimes I question id I want to sit on them...      Was going to give them the once over with Grorge this w'end coming.

just move them about so you can get to each part, and start from the headrest and work your way down the seat.also if the seats are really manky give them a pre-spray with some highly diluted apc which will loosen the crap and make it easier to extract from the fabric. when i say pre-spray im mean literally mist the seat so it dampens it slightly, dont soak them. also get some zoflora and add a capfull to the tank, this will eliminate any nastys in the fabric and will keep your car smelling fresh while its drying out.

Cheers man.. Going to leave them in the car.  There was a drink spilled on the rear floor a while back and was thinking it could be hard to reach in below the seat thats why i was also on about it.

hmmm... been thinking about this... maybe if you disconnect the battery 30 mins prior to taking the seats out you can minimise the risk of anything bad occurring... I WOULD CHECK with someone that knows for sure first (SEAT dealer perhaps?)... otherwise it is a fairly straightforward procedure... it certainly makes the job easier if you want to do a thorough job and aids drying as you can bring the seats indoors

Reading up on the Golf Mk4 removal of seats its advised that you are to disconect the battery before hand this stops any faults ocuring and posible accidental air bag deployment  ...which you really don't want to happen. But thats on the Golf Mk4 platform. So my guess is its standard procedure for any car to do this also
