Sometime ago, someone else posted on a similar problem. If I remember correctly, VW had to replace the seat squab. I think he weighed around 12 stone but was not tall. So not overly heavy IMO.

I weigh 11 stone and am 6'1" and I think there are those occasional times my seat might have squeaked.

15.5 stone 6ft 2" and no squeaking here
Golfgti build quality is average at best.

I hear so many ticks and clicks which drive me to distraction. I am pretty fussy of unwanted noises, more than is normal. I think the only things that seem to be noise free are the seats. Small mercies. I now just turn up the volume on the RNS, and if I hear a rattle, I'll take it to VW. I'll probably end up with a hard of hearing tech.

Our roads are so bad now, that any car will be shaken into becoming a rattle trap earlier than usual, unless it has very soft suspension which will then probably stimulate a bilious attack.

Just cannot win.

Had the same issue. Dealer had to replace the seat frame which took a day all in all.

Did you try and lubricate the runners or take it to the dealer straight away?

Cheers,

Jim

My issue had nothing to do with the runners or lack of lubrication. Creaking came from within the seat. Very easy to reproduce as I just had to push my weight backwards when seated = creak. Something in the seat frame was broken which caused the creaking sound. Could be heard when driving on twisty roads as my body was pushed into the seat.

Sounds like the exact same issue I am getting, going round bends or pulling into a road starts the creaking sound.  I'll take it to the dealership.

Thanks

Asker mate at 15.5 stone 6ft 2" vs 11 stone and am 6ft 1" you'll be the one getting squashed and flattened if you carry on like that
