Follow Me Home Head Lights
« on: 03 January 2011, 18:52 »
Not sure if there is a problem or if they are working as intended.  In the set-up I have set up the lights to come on when i go to unlock the car and when i leave the car.

They work no problem when I unlock the car, however they turn off when i leave the car and lock it.  I read in the manual that you can trigger the lights by pushing forward on the high-beam leaver but it worked that time but not now.

Do i have to manually have to activate follow me home lights everytime or do I have a problem?

Cheers,

Jim

Everytime you want them to do it?

Yeah. VW changed it from the MK5.

Personally I prefer as I can now choose to activate them whenever I want rather than have folk shouting after me "Hey mate you've left your lights on" as there is no need to do it when going to the local shops etc.

I prefered the mk5 way of doing things, if you wanted to turn them off when you left the car you could press the unlock then lock and they would turn on off.  Quite cool.  So when someone shouts at you, you could just turn around and unlock/lock and off they turned.  How cool are you then.

I have noticed on mine when getting out, if you lock, unlock then lock again the lights come on or as you say just pull the stalk towards you,

the 1st one i have used a few times if it is too dark and you havn't pulled the stalk

Think light switch has to be in auto ??
