Sounds like typical insurer hike,
try more than one comparison sites and compare cover and coutesy car and excesses etc..
Currently with more than, but had to let the other policy I had with them end and take out another to get the introductory discount  again ( mad or what)

I am 30 my wife is 27 we pay £450.00 a year with Admiral.  Use all the comarison sites, go compare, moneysupermarket.com.  I was previously with Tesco but Admiral have been the cheapest for the last two years for me.

Note the maximum size for it though :afro:

signature pics/avatar pics
Most forum users chose to add a 'signature' picture that gets displayed underneath their posts. In order to make the site read-able, the picture should obviously be tasteful but also be no bigger than 500 pixels wide by 150 pixels high.
For more help http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=85911.0

As part of your forum profile you can choose to display an 'avatar' picture that gets displayed under your username at the left side of all your posts. There are a couple of standard ones included but you can also link to your own. The size limit for these is 65 by 65 pixels.

£318 with protected no claims fully comp with admiral

Best bet is try adding drivers with clean licences over the age of 30 to your quote (i know this seems counterintuative but it actually reduced my premium by over £70).
Also try going through cashback sites like quidco.com to get up to £100 cashback.

Agreed with a few on here - I'm with Admiral which for me is cheapest fully comp, but also try their sister co's Bell and Elephant, they seem to be pretty friendly towards Golf/GTI drivers, and you can play them off to get the best deal

Although I DONT know what they're like if you make a claim - experience anyone?

I used to be with Greenlight (who are also a forum sponsor btw) and they ended up being by far the cheapest option for me as they specialist in modified (or non modified) hot hatches (Golf GTI . . . . . . ?). I can no longer insure with them for the moment but will be going back when I can in a few years. I have now ended up with Bell purely because of price.

Insurance hunting is never fun so good luck.

From what I've heard / read they are all terrible. However the way insurance costs are going I really couldn't give a sh!t. If they are the cheapest I will be going with them.
