Jay,Not sure if this helps. I bought a new DSG GTi in Sept 09 and very soon experienced similar symptoms to those you described on your test drive. Very jumpy when 1st engaged and anything but smooth in stop-start traffic. Got worse the more warmed up the car was. After a couple of visits to the dealer, I had to have the whole DSG box replaced. They said it was due to the mechanotronic unit overheating. They said it wasn't an uncommon fault on the earlier Mk6 DSG boxes. Not sure if that helps but might be worth a mention?Col

Hey, cheers for all the reply's. Just had word back and they think its the Mechantronics unit just waiting for confirmation. If it is will this solve the problem? and are the new units more reliable than the early 09's?
