16V Throttle Wiring PLEASE HELP!

Hi guys, ive made a new post for this to try and make it clear. The wires on my throttle valve switch were broken and i dont know which wires go where. Ive got pictures of my setup, please compare to yours and if anybody has the same PLEASE help. Its a mk2 1.8 16V Gti, 139bhp. Pictures of the following:

1)The wire terminal block from the numbered side with numbers 1,2 and 3



2)The 3 wires that i have that are not the same colour as the haynes manual suggests... Mine are red, black, and brown/red



3)The loom that my 3 wires come from. The red and black wires come from the same loom, but the red/orange seems to be on its own, going through the bulkhead. Im a bit confused by this if somebody could shed me some light

Today i found this:






It's the wiring and connector for the idle switch on the throttle body. Pretty knackered!

I'd follow the black and red wires back inside the sheathing and see if they've been played with in the past.

Hmm well like i say the orange/red wire is in a different sheathing of its own! But ill take a look now, ill open the sheathing up as far as i can to check!

Well well well! Mate simple idea, but your right! The black was actually the white, and the red was actually the yellow/black. HOWEVER... i now have a spare which is brown/red (furthest right wire in pics) and i wonder what its for, because a) the book says the remainding wire should be black, which this isnt, and b) its not on the same loom, it goes into the bulkhead along with the breather that goes to the locks.
Any ideas what i should do with this mystery wire?

Well ive joined the two wires, the car started much better but still idled up and down. I then joined the mystery wrong coloured wire to the remaining terminal, and it looks like that was its home after all, as its much better now
