suspension advice

need a little advice here

I have a mk2 vr i am currently building up with the smooth engine bay hidden wires etc
i fitted brand new coilovers to the car a while back but i think they are going to be to harsh
and smash my engine bay to bits as it is rock hard

they is already 2 small cracks and it aint been on the road yet just caused from towing it about everywhere

i think i will go back to shocks but whats the best for the mk2vr koni/eibach springs
thoughts please

im guessing you have a tidy budget based on your build thread. my mate has koni fully adjustables and they are very nice, set it back about 700 sheets i think, otherwise there are KW's of course. yours isnt widetracked is it?

Koni shocks with eibach springs is a good choice.

i dont have money like i had when i started the build since having a addition to the family
could not part with 700 

no mine aint widetracked is it possible to get different coilover springs to stop them being so harsh

I used to have koni/eibach second hand but the rears seized up proberly worked well but they were only
on a few month

budget coils would be AP's for me i am biased on this one as i have a set but i dont think they are too harsh, alot of people like the weitecs too. new springs wise not sure, what make have you got?

i have hottuning coilovers they were cheap when i bought them not sure what to expect with them really
never really heard of people running them but i just think they are to hard

i was looking on rally design at different springs cheap to replace

I find hottunning coillies softer than mine. Maybe if you got mk3 vr suspension or is it lowered you want?

replace the whole lot Rob, ive heard nothing but bad things about the hottuning coilovers. that is your problem right there, cheap coilies = false economy. if its low you want to go, go for weitec or AP's under 450 or go for a decent spring shock setup again weitec, or as wayne suggests if you have a little more of a budget.

i want it pretty low yeah but also wanting the handling good might hit a few trackdays later this year all been well

i think i will sell them on when i find a replacment should'nt be hard to sell on
i will need to save up for something more decent i will look into weitec see what i can find
