PCV HELP!!!!
« on: 17 February 2005, 19:49 »
I've just been checking pipes for airleaks on my 8v (in the dark ) I checked the PCV (black round thing that push fits into the top of the rocker cover) and it came off in my hand!!!!

The flange that pushes into the rocker cover came off, I've pulled the remains out of the hole, but now I need a new PCV (should help my stalling problem).

Anybody had to replace this?

I can't find them on the eurocarparts or gsf sites, so I guess it's a vag job, any ideas how much???

did the black round hard plastic thing come off or did you just break the rubber bung it pushes in to in the rocker cover?

if it was just the rubber bung (which is prone to spliting around the recess that traps it in the rocker cover) i think you can get them from GSF if not i dont think VAG would be to exspencive for this. if they are try GPC. i got one from there about a year ago.

aye up me duck!

Who are GPC?

i think your talking about the crankcase breather right? the bungs cost about ?4 from german and swedish and do the job just fine! and GPC are genuine parts company ( i think) basiclly they stock genuine vw and audi parts that are hard to get hold of from VAG. they're base in luton and have a website which someone will post at some point!
