I've been on a few forums Asker. I do agree with you that this one certainly has a nice atmosphere. I say this primarily in reference to the mk6 section because a) it is where I spend most of my time on this site; and b) because sometimes the 'Off Topic' sections just get caught up in arguments (usually with the same members).
Nothing against any other sections but I just don't really go into any other mks because I don't own them. Although I love reading the projects sections because some of the stuff in there is pretty impressive.
Of course there are always bound to be flies in the ointment.

The forum has a good mix with generally very good and helpful people. They are also very kind and generous with their time.

On the other forums, people seem so angry and unnecessaruly aggressive.
I know we can all be a bit titchy at times, but it is constant on those and very disheartening. They also bear grudges.

Hopefully, with Doc and Snoops some modicum of understanding and kindness will be made to prevail.

Well as a (soon to be) GTD owner I have to say that I did not find this forum very friendly.

I am a member of a mortorbike forum and I never saw any offensive posts regarding other peoples bikes - usually quite the opposite. I had a V twin. Which, I guess, would be thought of as the 'diesel' of the mortorbike world - loud and buckets of torque  0-60 in 4 seconds, but a max speed of only 130mph. Which is a lot slower than most of the inline fours which can do 160mph +

Did you know that for just £10,000 you can buy standard 1000cc motorbike than can go from 100mph to 160mph in 8 seconds?

DDRFAN it's not you that looks like a Richard head, quite the opposite, I split the post because the original one went way off topic, it was at your post that things went off on a tangent regardings our sexual preferences so I split the topics up.

Please accept my appologies if I have caused you any grief, I'm just trying to keep posts "on topic"

I think you need to stop slagging off other people's choices of car.  Banter between people who are already friends is one thing, but persistent, knee-jerk denigration of perfectly valid choices (like diesel, or DSG, or 5-door, or 17" wheels) can indeed come over as pretty unfriendly.
