Hello

Right, ive just picked up a very nice 91 1.3 ryder, on coilovers to sit next to my 85 GTI.

It WILL be having an engine conversion sometime very soon, but I need to know what to get/ best options.

I've already got a mk3 2.0 bottom end lined up, and love the way my k-jet 8v drives, but I really dont want to but another one just to rip the loom out, etc etc.

Soo ive already got a elec fuel pump and regulator fitted to the car, which brought me onto the thought about bike carbs (yes i have read the other post) but boss bogg (or whatever theyre called) dont make a manifold for the 8v.

Can i fit a crossflow 8v to a mk3 bottom end, and which head would this be ?
Does the 2.0 bottom end bolt to my subframe ?

If i where to mate the 2.0 bottom end to a mk2 gti gearbox (02A?) then would my standaard gear rod arrangments work? and would the driveshafts fit up ??

Anybody any experience with 1.3 conversions (and yes I have searched)

Wouldn't bother with any of that for the expense, slap an abf in it-preferably get yourself a mk3 16v donor car and you'll have every part you need. Jus need to read rubjonnys info on wiring it up, not the hardest to do as you've got the same fusebox as the mk3. Or buy a mk2 16v donor and swap everything. If your dead set on 8v one of the 8v peasants will have to help you

If your going to do it, fit a ABF and make it worth the work.

You'd probably need to muck about with the wiring to get a bike-carb set up running right anyway. 

Just do the right thing - put a rotten Golf3 out of its misery.

Why are people put of by wireing up an ABF    it's plug and play.
