Did my mk3 anni style yesterday using 6mm coach stripe I got off fleebay. TBH I would go for paint, the stuff I got was quite thin which u do notice when up close, and the adhesive is not very good especially each end near the arches. I can see it coming away the next time I give it a good clean.

if you want it to look authentic then paint it, pinstripe just sticks on!

Yeah, I think I would rather paint it. It is a spare grill which I bought for a fiver anyway, as mine is now damaged, so I can take my time and get it looking right.

Paint is better, can't see how adhesive would look any good on the curves. It's a bit of a ballache doing the masking (1-2 hours masking, 10 seconds spraying per coat), but if you do it properly it's worth it. I used Halfords Tornado Red and it looked fine, nice and bright (just like Tornado red...).

It's supposed to be Mars Red on the 7-slat grilles, and Tornado Red on the 5-slats.

Here's how mine came out..

Thanks, that looks good  Looking at the cap on the spray can I was worried Tornado Red would be too dark, but that photo helps alot.

The cap colour is miles out - it's almost maroon!

I sprayed a bit on cardboard first just to make sure it was the right colour.
