Passenger side wing
« on: 27 December 2010, 17:38 »
Hello,
I have just had my car do a 360 and clip the central reservation on a duel carrigeway . No one was hurt thank god though it did scare the hell out of me.
Theres now a dent on the Passenger side wing from the wheel arch towards the head lights. Does anyone know if these are bolt on items and where i could get one from.

Thanks in advance.

Your car aint silver is it?

I think Euro Car Parts in Wolstanton do wings but dunno about price and paint obviously... could try ebay for 2nd hand ones, but otherwise locally it's a ballache find parts for mk4's, body parts anyway.

Yes bolt on

Depends weather you want Genuine or a copy wing.

Genune TPS or second hand one from scrap yard or try Simply Vag on here

 Copy ebay:

The wing is bolt on.

3 bolts in the wing. You will need to remove the wheel arch liner and dig for the bottom bolt that's near the sill. This one can be a pain in the ass as it's normally caked in grime and/or covered in under seal.

Then remove the 10mm bolts on the top and the wing should just slip off

If your car is silver your going to be hard stuck to find a good colour match. There is 4 shades if reflex silver.

Thanks for the quick replys. Mines  dark blue Dave, if your ever around the kidsgrove area then you may see me  . As long as I can't tell the difference I don't mind getting copy as it must be cheaper. I'm just glad my other half and the kids weren't in the car.

Not worth the hastle. A wing from VW is £47 iirc. Then obviously painting.

Look on eBay for a wing in your colour. Is it indigo blue?

+1 though the paint match could be out.

I would sooner get a second hand genuine wing - strip the paint off then get it professionally painted in the correct colour then fit it yourself

I've just looked on euro car parts and they are quoting 105 for a original and 43 for a copy...if VW do the original for 47 then il buy that and get it colour matched. I'm not sure  of the paint code, dark blue....looks to be the same as richw911's car (but not as shiny  :undecided: )
