Getting power on the road
« on: 26 December 2010, 19:19 »
I want to continue modifying my car but don't want loads of power and no way of using it. What are the best ways to get power on to the road other that an LSD? I don't know if there are other topics with this in but I couldn't find them.

Thanks

Decent tyres are a good starting point

There is also the Whiteline Anti-lift kit which gives more camber under cornering.  Also anti-roll bars.

Then there's the suspension itself, all the bushes and mounts etc etc

I've got SportContact3s on which I'm pretty happy with!

I was thinking more in terms of getting the power down in general not just in the bends, I'm probably going to get the WALK anyway and was thinking maybe lowering it slightly to give it a lower centre of gravity and therefore more grip?!

Thanks again

IMO a good set of suspension should be your first mod. Whether it's coilovers or springs/dampers combo. Don't go for the cheap option either, you'll end up buying twice. Read reviews and decide what you personally want and then part with your hard earned cash.
