It all depends on what you want to do with it?

i.e. job (s) car (s)

That was the point of asking the question.
What do they both do? what are they compatible with?

They change the mileage on Vag cars.

The vehicles covered depend on if your buying original or snides mate.

Hence what do you *expect* or want them to do?

I want one for reading immobiliser codes.
I'm not intending to change mileages.
The newest car i have is a 2007.
From what i understand VAG commander is the better version, as it supports CANBUS.
Is this correct?

Yes. VAG commander is cambus compatible and the better of the two units - by a longshot.

Thankyou
Does it work on early cars as well, mid 90's cars for example?

So if i want a cable to do mid to late 90's cars, do i need to go for VAG-tacho instead?
