another set of clock fried!

posted on here tha i had a set of clocks literally catch fire, i ordered a new set checked the wires which i could see good earth ect checked all the fuses , fitted another set of clocks ready to have them coded and they have jus melted to? wtf? any one got any ideas? this its goin to be a dash out job and check all the wires????

very odd, sounds like a short circuit but where is anyones guess.

Seek help from a specialist in auto electrics, sounds like a dead short in the loom.

sorry but whats meant as a dead short? like a few wires melted together? thanks

S**t mate, not good :(
Have you ever had any other radeo fitted or another alarm in the car? VW are ushlay very good with wires and this is a quite a saprise that this is happing.
I cant remember if you had a falt code read or not just to see if there was anying apparant?

check your fuse box to see if right fuses have been fitted, any fuse should have blown before it got to the point of melting wires.

my bet is a bad earth

Check main earthing points, drivers footwell --> Door pillar, Passenger footwell---> door pillar, Under steering column. I can provide wiring diag's if REQ.
