Steering rack suspension query

Hi guys,
Hi ave done a search to no avail.
My problem is when I turn quickly to the right or reverse and turn off I hear this mechanical clunk noise it seems to be coming from the pedal area on the drivers side am not sure whether its the top mount or the steering rack or something else?

Secondly this may be related to the above problem but on turning quartly to the left (slow left hand turn) I hear this irrating rattle/creaking noise if I turn full lock it does not make it it's only when the wheel is  a quarter turn off center pls can someone help before I go bonkers cheers

I would say a top mount

Had something similar to this on my last golf. Drive back and forth slowly with the wheels centred and get someone to watch the wheels and see if they vibrate. If they do then i would suspect you have a knackered shocker.

update:
just been for a spin with a mate theres no wheel vibration its like as if sometjhing is rubbing against the heatshield or something from outside you cant hear the noise (thats dervs 4 u) but from in the cabin its def a tinny metal like heatshield etc type of sound.

Now where talking I'll get my man Jordi to check it out that might explain why it's temperamental if it is this then does it mean a new mount or just tightening the thingy up

front mounts under the handbrake are about £11 each, rear ones both come to under a tenner

My milltek has been catching on the axle for ages. either needs a new exhaust mounting rubber or they can be lifted slightly using a diy method of either Jubilee clip or some cable tie's

might be worth having the inner cv joint checked on the drivers side as sounds similar to mine when this went and its under the pedal area,dont mean to scare mounger but worth checking
