Replacing headlining

I want to replace the sagging headlining in my Mk2 Gti with the one in perfect condition from my old, written off model. I have removed all the trimmings but I read in a search that you remove the rubbers above the doors and the sunroof lining. Is this correct and do they come off easily? I am nervous of actually taking down the headlining, is it as easy as people have said?

it is fairly easy to get out but you do have to take quite a bit of trim apart to do it.
be carefull when removing it though as the headlinings are quite brittle an not very strong.

Done it!!!! Came out of my old car in one piece and went in to the new one fairly easily! The only problem I had was with the sunroof trim. It took me a while to put back on, and now I think it must be on wrong as the sunroof catches on it when closing. I put the thicker side on top, but I assume it must go the other way round. I will attack it again tomorrow but I am still chuffed to bits that I have a mint headlining and it didn't cost me a penny.

Would be a good idea to glue the headlining to the metal in the sun roof.
When I did mine I didn't have glue to hand so when I put the sunroof trim back on, the headlining was uneven round the sunroof rim!
