MK 3 Golf 1.8 cl thermostat

Hiya im new here and i reckon this will be the first of many problems i will get with the golf.

Firstly is a K reg 1.8 cl

How do i get to the thermostat lol

its behind the pas pump, follow bottom rad hose to the plastic housing its behind there, housing held on with 2 bolts.
get underneath and look at the pas pump, you can unbolt the bracketry from the block with the pump still attached, can drop it off and push out of the way without undoing the 2 pipes to it as well. 2 bolts underneath, another to the alt bracket and finally the tensioner bolt in the driver side and it should drop off. might have to undo the brackets holdign the pas pipes up to get enough slack too. all the rad and block will drain when stat out, so bear that in mind. make sure you have enough antifreeze, you want a 50/50 mix so around 3litres

i have sorted it now, thanks for the help, i couldnt find it at all.

the heater still doesnt feel that hot though, how do you bleed the water system propperly
