Does your injection system run of a unit that sits on top of your airbox. If so take the rubber intake pipe off the top and make sure the circular disk inside is moving freely up and down. Mine was stuck and showing similar symptoms.

to bypass the ignition switch bridge the terminals on the starter motor. make sure it's out of gear though else it'll run you over :grin:

waaa , had a bit of luck today , bought another gti same model for ?120 bucks it is dieing of rust but it runs super sweet , starts like my driver 1st time every time, ive transplanted ignition and distributar cap and , my other gti that wouldnt start started , :smiley: , but needs a new CH gasket , so im gona get head skimmed and and new gasket fitted , and transplant my dieing of rust gti,s engine into my driver  :cool:, thx 4r all the ideas guys and gals, hope 2 be driving my driver cough cough gti very fast

ill also keep the other gti that i started off with in standard condition soo,s not 2 burn the fuel 2 much , it only has had 1n owner and has got 55k on the clock , so in the end up , im over the moon at my sooon 2 be driver that will be a gti 18,8v with all the mods i can find , and my standerd gti 1n owner , all 4r ?220 , :smiley:good shizney

dam straight now all i need 2 find out is how 2 make my (1.6 driver) with new 1.8 8v gti engine , faster than my m8ts sh!tty subaru with nos , its knockhill so it is small windy course, i think i can do this but could do with pointers  :cool: , also will be getting rid of gti mrk 2 gti interior and other sh!t so let me no if ure looking 4r anything spare , the gti  im scrapping is that horrible green colour and has rusted sill and rear arch at passenger side is away :smiley:

nah ill find a way , he is also a big gay behind the wheel , although his car basically drives him home, which is not the way it should b,  :cool:
