MK2 rear vw badge colour?? Rally headlights??

What finish should be on a 1992 mk2 rear boot badge should it be a  chrome one??
Also how do the rally headlights work? do the dipped beam stop working when you put main beam on or should they go dimmer or atay the same brightness??
What happens when i put on main beam is the outer dipped beams go dim is this right or wrong??

The car is white ya c and the badge is a creamy off white colour and i wondered if this was painted or athing on some golfs??

think the badge has been painted but then again rallyes and corrado's came with colour coded badges so yours may well have been done for some reason? i painted mine black to match my car.

Yeah i might take it off and c what the back of it is like should be easy to  tell i hope, c the car was stock totally when i got it all gn origional so i would doubt any previous owners would have painted the badge?? Its on a K plate so its one of the last ones......
