Bad handling.
« on: 15 February 2005, 12:04 »
When im coming down the gears and come of the clutch the front of the car swerves to the right then back again. It also happens when accelerating hard but not as bad. I thought it may have been the left side strut top mount as it was wobbly but after replacing it the problem is still there. What is it likely to be? I thought it might be the wishbone bushes but thought id get your opinions before i bush a polly bush set. If i do change for polly bushes is it something i can do without special tools i.e a press?

I would check all the bushes on the suspension.
The wishbone bushes will be difficult to remove without a press, but can be done.

Ive seen advertised on the old ebay these full box sets including all the bushes you will need including the rear 2. How much do these go for in the shops?

your better off going for OE bushes in the rear as you get a certain amount of passive steer from the rear. apparently poly bushes can make the rear end a bit skittish. as for poly bush kits they go for more than that guy sells his sets for if they are the ones i think your talking about.
