Congrats mate, nice car. You'll always get the 1.8T brigade saying the 2.0 is slow, one day they'll read the bit that says the car needed to be within your budget, which of course includes insurance. The 1.8T is hardly any better on fuel and oil. Plus not everyone is a boyracer.

20K on the clock sounds good mate, does it have all of the old MOT certs with it to document consistant mileage?
80% of your posts are total tripe, as they are mostly replies to sh1te posts created by the morons that, unfortunately this forum attracts.

Agreed apart from my 1.8T doesn't use any oil and still gets 40+ mpg when on a run

Car sounds very nice BTW

Mine too, but if you nail it, it'll drink fuel and the engine oil lubes the turbo, so you'll drink oil too.

Welcome to world of VW.

My first Mk4 was a bonkers blue (jazz blue) GT TDI - stunning colour when clean

We all say we'll stick to VW here.

But it all depends on how much cash your willing to spend on a car ... as soon as you hit 5-6-7k barrier for a used car, a lot of doors open up for a lot of good cars!

Anyway, enjoy your new car :)

Is the 2.0 8v a very similiar unit in the mk3 as the mk4?

Why would the turbo car drink oil?

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.
