they were only made for one year the gtd 1991 H and J plate's  alot of the turbo diesel mk2's dont have the intercooler that the GTD has. Great cars had a few in our time so wouldnt call them rare but far far less common than a MK2 Gti in oak green lol

I think what he was saying was, there are far less GTD's around than there are oak green GTI's.  He wasn't suggesting that oak green is rare.
